Kay Kratky confirmed as president for aviation and industry at aireg

The members of the association Aviation Initiative for Renewable Energy in Germany e.V. (aireg) elected Kay Kratky, Ex-CEO Austrian Airlines, CAPHENIA investor and chair of the advisory board, for another two years as president for aviation and industry.

Next to his engagement at aireg and CAPHENIA, Kay Kratky is also a member of the SAS and Klagenfurt Airport supervisory boards. Furthermore, he advises the EU Commission on mobility issues and runs his own company, Kay Kratky Global Consult. Kratky can look back on decades of experience in the aviation industry, most recently as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Austrian Airlines.

With regards to his re-election as president for aviation and industry at aireg, Kratky mentioned: “I am happy to bring in my experience in the aviation industry for another two years as Member of the Board at aireg, and to commonly foster solutions for the decarbonisation of aviation”.

Melanie Form, Managing Director at aireg, said to Kratky´s re-election: “With Kay Kratky, we have a renowned personality of the aviation industry in the board of the Aviation Initiative for Renewable Energy in Germany e. aireg – Aviation Initiative for Renewable Energy in Germany e.V. was founded in 2011 as an association of companies and organizations from industry, research and science. As a non-profit initiative, aireg is committed to the availability and use of renewable energies in aviation in order to achieve the ambitious CO₂ reduction targets of the aviation industry. The members come from all areas of the value chain of renewable energies for aviation: This ranges from research at universities and large research institutions, plant manufacturers and operators, biorefineries, the petroleum industry, engine and aircraft manufacturers, government organizations, non-governmental organizations and airports to airlines. The industrial members cover a broad international spectrum from start-ups to large corporations.
