The Bavarian Cleantech company CAPHENIA is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Christian Librera as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective March 1, 2025. This strategic decision serves CAPHENIA’s ambition to establish itself as a market leader for renewable fuels, to drive innovative technologies on a large scale and to accelerate the energy transition with sustainable aviation fuels (SAF).<\/p>\n

He has a proven track record of scaling complex, capital-intensive projects, increasing operational efficiency and implementing innovative technologies. <\/p>\n
Dr. Librera holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of W\u00fcrzburg and a Master of Science from the University of Cincinnati. This academic foundation, combined with more than 20 years of industry experience, gives him a unique perspective on innovation and sustainability in the renewable energy sector. <\/p>\n
Prior to joining CAPHENIA, Dr. Librera held several leadership positions, including Senior Vice President Biofuels at UPM and Vice President at Clariant. In these roles, he was instrumental in the commercialization of sustainable technologies and led global business units with great success. <\/p>\n
The appointment of Dr. Librera comes at a crucial time as CAPHENIA reaches significant milestones in the commercialization of its innovative Plasma Boudouard Reactor (PBR) technology. The pilot plant “GERMANY I” at Industriepark H\u00f6chst in Frankfurt is in the final stages of completion. Commissioning is planned for Q3 \/ 2025. <\/p>\n
