Bernau am Chiemsee, 6 August 2026
CAPHENIA GmbH has appointed Melanie Form as Chief Communications Officer, effective 1 August 2026. In her new role, Form will be responsible for CAPHENIA’s entire corporate communications activities across all global markets. Her responsibilities will include internal and external communications, brand management and branding, marketing, the company’s presence at trade fairs, conferences and industry events, as well as its political and regulatory affairs in Berlin, Brussels and at the international level.
The appointment comes at a pivotal stage in CAPHENIA’s development. The company is evolving from a deep-tech start-up into an internationally active technology provider for renewable fuels. With the completion of its pilot plant in Frankfurt-Höchst, CAPHENIA is preparing for the global rollout of its technology.

Melanie Form takes responsibility for an exceptional foundation: CAPHENIA’s technology and brand already attract attention around the world, reflecting the outstanding groundwork laid by the entire team. The next step is to translate this position into the company’s international rollout, supported by a consistent voice towards partners, investors, the media and policymakers.
At the same time, ReFuelEU Aviation in Europe and CORSIA, established by the International Civil Aviation Organization ICAO, are creating a binding global framework for sustainable aviation fuels, or SAF, for the first time. Political and regulatory engagement is therefore becoming an integral part of corporate communications. For this reason, CAPHENIA is consolidating communications, brand management, marketing and public affairs within one executive function. Melanie Form embodies precisely this combination of expertise.
Melanie Form has more than 25 years of experience spanning communications, politics and business. She holds a degree in political science and studied in Munich and Berlin. She worked for the German Bundestag and the German Federal Government in Berlin and Brussels before moving into the private sector, where she also worked in consulting.
For many years, she served as Managing Executive Board Member of the German SAF industry initiative aireg, developing it into an internationally recognized center of expertise for the market ramp-up of sustainable aviation fuels. As the former spokesperson of the PtX Alliance Germany, she is also a sought-after speaker at international conferences.
Innovation made in Germany:
“By appointing Melanie Form, we are gaining one of the most distinguished communications experts in the SAF industry. She combines outstanding communications expertise with political experience in Berlin and Brussels and a deep understanding of the market. She is taking responsibility for a brand with genuine international reach and will lead it into the phase in which we bring our technology from the pilot plant to the global market. Melanie’s deliberate decision to join CAPHENIA sends a strong signal regarding both our technology and our team,” says Dr Mark Misselhorn, Managing Director of CAPHENIA GmbH.
“Over the past several years, I have seen a wide range of SAF projects around the world. CAPHENIA stands apart as a technology of international significance with genuine scaling potential. This conviction was central to my decision. Guiding CAPHENIA through the global rollout phase, from the brand to the political stage, is precisely the responsibility I have taken on,” says Melanie Form.
CAPHENIA GmbH, a deep-tech start-up headquartered in Bernau am Chiemsee, is a technology provider for renewable fuels specialising in its Power-and-Biogas-to-Liquid process, or PBtL. The process is enabled by the company’s highly efficient and unique three-in-one zone reactor technology. The company is currently in the final construction phase of its pilot plant in Frankfurt-Höchst, which is scheduled to begin producing synthesis gas by the end of 2026. With more than 25 research and development partners and 253 patents, CAPHENIA is considered to offer one of the world’s most efficient, scalable and market-ready technologies for the production of renewable fuels.
