Bernau am Chiemsee, Deutschland / Kelsterbach, Deutschland: June 28th, 2024. CAPHENIA and Condor have entered into an agreement for the future procurement of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

As a partner, Condor will support the further development of the process to market maturity while securing access to agreed-upon quantities once production reaches an industrial scale. This is expected to occur in 2027.

CAPHENIA has developed a Power-and-Biogas-to-Liquid (PBtL) reactor that produces syngas from biomethane, CO₂, water, and electricity, serving as the precursor for renewable fuels and other chemical products.

Compared to conventional Power-to-Liquid processes, CAPHENIA’s PBtL process requires six times less electricity and enables an impressive CO₂ reduction of up to 92 percent, as all carbon molecules come from sustainable sources. This exceptional efficiency allows CAPHENIA to offer renewable fuels at competitive prices.

To further advance development, CAPHENIA is currently constructing its first plant, “GERMANY I,” in the Höchst Industrial Park. This facility will demonstrate the scalability of their technology and pave the way for a sustainable future in the energy and transportation sectors.

“Turning CO2 into fuel” – The cleantech start-up CAPHENIA, located in Bernau am Chiemsee, Germany. The Bernau-based cleantech start-up CAPHENIA has set itself the goal of shaping the carbon-neutral future of mobility through sustainable fuels at competitive prices. Using the patented power-and-biogas-to-liquid (PBtL) process, CAPHENIA converts CO₂ and biogas into renewable synthetic fuels.

The specifically controllable CAPHENIA 3-in-1 zone reactor and the unique plasma process break down methane into its components carbon and hydrogen.

The subsequent steps produce a synthesis gas without by-products and with minimal energy losses using this highly efficient technology, which is obtained from biomethane, CO₂, water and electricity in a resource-saving manner and can be further processed for the production of fuels or other chemical products. The reactors are designed for scalability and enable renewable fuels to be produced quickly in large quantities.

With cooperation partners such as MAN Energy Solutions, renowned investment and development partners, an advisory board of leading industry and business representatives, well-known stakeholders also support the vision of CO₂-neutral fuel production.
