The Bavarian clean-tech company CAPHENIA announces the appointment of Dr. Helge Sachs as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), effective January 1, 2025. This strategic decision underscores CAPHENIA’s transformation from an innovative technology start-up to a leading company in the field of renewable fuels, particularly sustainable aviation fuels (SAF).
Dr. Sachs appointment comes at a pivotal time for CAPHENIA. The company has made significant progress in the commercialization of its breakthrough Plasma-Boudouard Reactor Technology (PBR). The construction of the pilot plant “GERMANY I” in the Industriepark Höchst in Frankfurt is nearing completion. The specially developed reactor has been successfully installed, with commissioning planned for the first half of 2025 and production scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2025.
Dr. Helge Sachs brings with him an impressive career and extensive expertise in the areas of innovation, sustainability and business development. His previous roles include management positions at Lufthansa Technik and Diehl Aviation, as well as serving as an advisor to the Airbus executive team. Most recently, he led Sasol’s efforts to establish Sasol ecoFT, a global business unit for the development of Power-to-X plants for sustainable fuels and chemicals.

Dr. Sachs holds a degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering and a doctorate in aircraft systems engineering.
